I recently took a fall while biking, and while I’m happy to report that physically I’ve mostly recovered, I’ve been reflecting on the experience and the impact it had on my day-to-day life. It’s been a reminder to take extra care when riding and take rest when needed.
This week, I had the opportunity to delve into the world of AI and its potential in the field of art and design. As part of an assignment, I decided to experiment with creating a more adult and spooky version of Pokémon, a beloved childhood favorite. To do this, I turned to two powerful AI tools: Dall-E Beta and Midjourney. With these tools at my disposal, I was able to create an impressive and fearsome depiction of Bulbasaur in the style of Keith Thompson.
But the fun didn’t stop there. As I worked with these AI tools, I made a fascinating discovery: by using phrases like “currently trending on ArtStation,” I could actually see the front page of the website within my own artwork. This feature added an extra layer of interest and excitement to the project, and made me even more excited to continue exploring the capabilities of AI.
In addition to this project, I also decided to use Pokémon as inspiration for creating Halloween-themed Pokémon cards. I utilized AI tools to come up with some truly unique and frightening designs that would be perfect for the spooky holiday. The results were impressive, and I was amazed at the level of detail and creativity that the AI was able to bring to the table.
Overall, working with AI tools this week has been a truly enlightening and enjoyable experience. It has shown me the vast potential and usefulness of AI in the world of art and design, and has sparked my curiosity to continue exploring and learning about these tools in the future. I am confident that the skills and knowledge I have gained from this experience will be invaluable as I continue to grow and develop as an artist.
