In this week’s course, we focused on the importance of understanding our audience and conducting user research ethically. To reinforce these concepts, we conducted two personal case studies in which we evaluated the potential harms and benefits of different research methods. Through these case studies, we gained practice in asking the right questions and considering the ethical implications of our research.
Additionally, we completed a challenge activity in which we had to classify different scenarios as low, medium, or high risk based on their potential impact. This activity allowed us to further develop our understanding of risk assessment in research and to learn from the approaches of our fellow students.
Overall, this week’s course has provided me with valuable insights into the importance of conducting research ethically and considering the impact of our actions on our audience. I feel more prepared to approach my future research with a strong understanding of these concepts and am confident that the skills I have learned will be useful in my future endeavors.
